Sandy Springs
Sandy Springs is the northern suburb of Atlanta that puts you a stone’s throw from everything Atlanta has to offer. Bordering Roswell, Cobb County and Dunwoody, you have quick access to I-285 that circles the city and to GA 400 that runs north to Roswell and Alpharetta and south to Buckhead, Midtown and Downtown. Still, with all the amenities of Sandy Springs, you may find yourself not wanting to leave your comfy nest at all. That could be a 2 bedroom townhouse in a gated community from the low 200’s, a sprawling 1.5 million estate off Riverside Drive or a 4 bedroom hi-rise condo in the high 500’s and everything in between.
Sandy Springs undoubtedly offers the best of easy going and gracious southern living. Beautifully landscaped neighborhoods. Great schools for your kids. And a country club lifestyle without having to join the country club. Take ALTA (Atlanta Lawn & Tennis Association) for instance. Whether you’re new to the game or played in college, ALTA has a men’s, women’s or mixed doubles team for you. It could play out of Hammond or Abernathy Park, Dunwoody Country Club or on the courts inside your very own subdivision. (Tennis courts and pools are pretty much a standard amenity in many of Atlantas subdivision. And Sandy Springs is abundant with those!)
Then again, no other Atlanta suburb gets down to business quite like Sandy Springs. UPS is headquartered in the area that spans from “Pill Hill,” the largest medical center in Georgia (with St. Joe’s, Northside andChildren’s Health Care of Atlanta) Then, just across I-285 is Perimeter Center, the commercial edge city surrounding Perimeter Mall. Look out a picture window at St. Joe’s and you’ll see a dramatic skyline rising out of Atlanta’s lush green terrain. You can’t miss the King and Queen buildings with their white “crowned tops.” Perimeter Mall offers excellent shopping as well with Nordstroms, Macy’s, Bloomingdales and many great boutiques. Dining options abound too with institutions like Rays on the River on the Chattahoochee River and Joey D’s Oakroom near the mall and business district.
Atlanta Public Charter and Public Schools serve K-12 students in Sandy Springs. Private schools include Brandon Hall, Holy Innocents Episcopal, The Epstein School and Holy Spirit Preparatory School.
